The passing of a friend … Glenn Bennett, Jr.

**Remembering Glenn Bennett Jr.** Many of our readers likely knew Glenn Bennett Jr., who spent much of his life in the Three Lakes area. For others, he might be remembered for his years working as a truck driver and delivery specialist for Seagrave. Glenn was more than just a familiar face; he was a man deeply connected to his community and colleagues. In April 2016, we shared an article about a serious accident he endured. After being hospitalized out east, Glenn was transferred to a rehabilitation center in Wisconsin, where he eventually passed away on November 4, 2018. His loss has left a void in the lives of everyone who ever met him. Glenn Bennett Jr. was born on August 25, 1951, in Evanston, Illinois. Over the course of 37 years, he served as a firefighter in Northfield, Illinois, and later at the Three Lakes Fire Department. He also worked as an employee for FDW Seagrave, traveling across the United States to deliver fire trucks. During the tragic events of 9/11, he volunteered his time to assist with recovery efforts, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness. Glenn found joy in simple pleasures such as working in his yard, fishing with loved ones, enjoying time in Florida, and sharing laughter with friends. He is survived by his wife, Anita, their daughters Lauren Madl (Paul Madl), Barbara Bennett, and Ashley Edwards (Bryan Edwards), along with two grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters. His parents, Glenn Bennett Sr. and Elizabeth Bennett, preceded him in death. Anita has expressed her gratitude for the love and support she received during this challenging time. A visitation will be held at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, Wisconsin, on November 10, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thoughts from John Tobin, a close friend of Glenn's, reflect on their friendship and the impact Glenn had on those around him: "For every picture, there's usually a story—and this one is no exception. One summer, I got a call from my buddy, Glenn, the Seagrave delivery man. He said, 'John, can you help me? My rig broke down on the Dan Ryan in Chicago.' I couldn’t believe it—Seagraves were supposed to be indestructible! But sure enough, he needed some parts. I grabbed what we needed, hopped into the Suburban, and raced to the scene. About 90 minutes later, I arrived, and thanks to luck, I had the right part. Glenn, with his trademark big smile and bubbly personality, was back on track in no time. He was always the best ambassador for Seagrave, and his contributions should never be forgotten. Let’s take a moment to remember Glenn and wish him well as he continues to face life's challenges." As we gather to honor Glenn's memory, let us cherish the moments we shared and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts. --- This heartfelt tribute reflects not only Glenn's achievements but also the warmth and kindness he brought to everyone he encountered. His story serves as a reminder of how small gestures can leave lasting impressions.
