Engine 16 was involved in a one-vehicle accident at 39th and Wallace while responding to a working fire two blocks away on June 15, 2016. Shortly after Engine 16 informed the office of the incident, a "pin-in" response was requested. Squad 1 was delayed at the fire scene but eventually made its way to the accident. The final photo shows the minimal damage to the engine. One firefighter from Engine 16 was taken to Christ Hospital for evaluation.

The incident occurred during an emergency response, which adds to the complexity of the situation. Despite the accident, the crew managed to continue their duties, showing the resilience and dedication of first responders. It’s always a concern when any unit is involved in an accident, especially while en route to another emergency. Fortunately, the injuries were not severe, and the damage to the vehicle was minimal. These photos give a clear visual of the event and the quick actions taken by the crews on the scene.
