Older engines leave the area

Bill Friedrich has shared news about two local fire departments that have sold their retired engines. These units, once vital to emergency response, are now being relocated to new homes. First, a 1993 E-One Cyclone pumper from the Addison Fire Department has been sold and is set to be shipped to Argentina. The engine features a Detroit Series 60 engine, an Allison HD740 transmission, and a Hale pump capable of 1,250 GPM with a 750-gallon tank. This unit was a staple in Addison for many years before its recent sale. ![ADDISON_ENG.104__1993_E-ONE_CYCLONE__1250-750](#) *This 1993 E-ONE Cyclone engine was recently sold and will be shipped to Argentina. This unit, known as Engine 1320, served Flossmoor well and is now continuing its service in a different location. ![FLOSSMOOR_FD__ENGINE_1320__HME-LUVERNE__BF](#) *X-Flossmoor Engine 1320 was sold to the Soldier Township Fire Department in Kansas. It's always interesting to see how these historic vehicles continue their service in different parts of the country or even abroad. These moves highlight the ongoing lifecycle of fire apparatus and the importance of proper resale channels.
