Hey everyone,
I recently stumbled upon something really interesting while going through my dad's old scrapbooks. It was an issue of Fire Engineering magazine that had a fantastic write-up about the tragic Hubbard Street fire. This incident has been talked about quite a bit over the years, but I think a lot of you might not have seen this particular article before. Honestly, it’s such a great example of what a solid fire magazine piece should look like—detailed, informative, and respectful.
I’ve scanned some of the pages from this issue, and I wanted to share them here. Click on any of the images below to see a larger version. The article provides a comprehensive overview of the event, including photos and insights that give you a real sense of what happened that day.

If you’re interested in learning more about this fire, there are some additional resources linked HERE, HERE, and HERE. They provide even more context and detail.
Let me know what you think! I’m curious to hear if anyone else finds this as fascinating as I do.
Take care,
Steve
