I arrived at 3259 S. Halsted around 9:15 on Saturday morning, February 7th, 2015. I got there about five minutes too late—by the time I walked down, the fire was already mostly under control. It looked like the flames were mainly confined to the rear porches of a large three-story building that had mixed occupancy. Fire engines 29 and 28, along with trucks 8 and 11, were on the scene. It was tough to get a clear shot of Engine 29 because it was facing into the sun.
