The **China Instrument Network Instrument Development** recently marked a significant milestone as the 2MN static weight/superimposed composite force standard device, developed by the Fujian Metrology Institute, successfully completed installation, commissioning, and was officially put into use after being calibrated by the China Test Institute. This achievement came to life when the device was first used on December 27, 2018, at the request of a sensor company in Fujian, where it calibrated a 2MN force sensor. This event signifies that the device is now fully operational and will play a crucial role in tracing high-precision measurement standards across China, providing reliable technical support for critical applications.
Carry out calibration services
This advanced standard device was the result of a research project originally led by the Fujian Provincial Metrology Institute under the former AQSIQ science and technology program. The entire technical design and development were independently carried out by the institute. The project overcame key challenges such as codeless exchange during loading and unloading, barrier-free disassembly and assembly, and full positioning of weights. These breakthroughs addressed long-standing issues with heavy machinery and resulted in seven patents being granted. Currently, this is the largest and most technologically advanced static and heavy-force standard device in China, boasting an accuracy better than 0.005%.
The successful development of this device has resolved the long-standing issue of being unable to calibrate 1MN force values with high precision in China. It significantly enhances the country’s high-power mass transfer system, supports domestic R&D in high-end sensors, and provides strong technical backing for industries such as aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
