Chicago new apparatus assignments – update

We’ve received additional updates regarding the upcoming deployment of the **4th new Spartan/Crimson 103' aerial**. It has been confirmed that this unit will be assigned to **Truck 56**, marking a significant addition to the Chicago Fire Department’s fleet. In addition, we’ve obtained images of two of the latest trucks before their company numbers were applied. These units, labeled **E337** and **E338**, are both designated as **ALS (Advanced Life Support)** companies, indicating they will be used for medical response alongside traditional fire operations. The first image shows **E337**, a brand-new Spartan/Crimson 103' aerial ladder truck, still in its pre-assignment state. It's currently carrying the shop number **E337**, and it's expected to be officially deployed soon. The second image features **E338**, another 103' aerial, also in the same pre-assigned condition. This unit is marked as an **ALS** vehicle, which means it will play a dual role in emergency services. A third photo captures both **E337** and **E338** together, showing them in their early stages before they receive their official service designations. These images provide a rare glimpse into the department’s ongoing fleet modernization efforts, highlighting the transition to newer, more advanced equipment that will enhance both fire suppression and emergency medical capabilities across the city. As these units move closer to deployment, further details about their specific roles and assignments are likely to follow. For now, the arrival of these two new ALS-equipped aerials represents a major step forward in the department’s mission to serve the community with the latest tools and technology.
