According to a senior technical director at the factory, the new separator has received international recognition, including certification from the China Classification Society (CCS) and Bureau Veritas (BV). It has also passed rigorous quality tests conducted by the Institute of Quality Technology Supervision and Inspection, and was officially recognized as a technological innovation project in Zhejiang Province. The development process of this separator took over a year, during which the engineering team faced and overcame significant challenges, such as difficulties in disc manufacturing and precision machining. By using electric drive systems, the separator generates powerful centrifugal force through high-speed rotation of multiple discs. This allows for the separation of different density components in mixed liquids, achieving efficient sedimentation and stratification of solid particles. As a result, the system delivers a high-energy-efficiency output. In an interview, a technician from the factory demonstrated the machine in action. He explained that once heavy diesel enters the separator, it reaches over 6,000 revolutions per minute within seconds, effectively extracting light diesel. The core of the separator consists of more than 100 discs, and after processing, all the oil that exits is pure light diesel. Water comes out through the middle hole, while impurities are collected on the outer layer. This technology represents a major improvement over traditional methods that relied solely on filtration and sedimentation, which were inefficient and consumed more energy. The new separator not only speeds up the process but also ensures better product quality. It enhances resource utilization, reduces raw material consumption, and improves waste oil and sewage separation, contributing to environmental protection by minimizing pollution. According to the engineers, the fuel-saving benefits of this energy-efficient separator are very noticeable. A single unit can operate continuously for 24 hours. For a 10,000-ton vessel equipped with a 4,000-horsepower engine, the daily fuel savings amount to approximately 6,000 yuan.
