Shimadzu Brings Analytical Instruments to National Environmental Industry Expert Forum

This time, Shimadzu Corporation brought analytical instruments and solutions that have been well applied in the environmental field, including GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, and ICP-MS. Academician Jiang Guibin described his cooperation with Shimadzu for more than 30 years as "passionate years, have you and me", including daily life, such as the establishment of the Shimadzu Cup. Of course, at the working level, “Shimadzu has helped scientific research get started.” In particular, academician Jiang Guibin from 1983 did research work with Shimadzu's GC-4A and GC-9A. In 1999, they used these instruments to carry out research. The tributyltin identification work of the Jiangxi lard poisoning incident won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award.
Academician Jiang Guibin gave a report titled "Application of Chromatography Mass Spectrometry in Environmental and Food Analysis". The report pointed out that the current environmental and food safety issues have become increasingly severe, and the presence of chemical contaminants, micro-organisms, bacteria, and viruses in the environment and food have caused great harm to human health. There are still certain problems in the analysis of these substances. For example, there are more than 1,000 kinds of by-products for disinfection of tap water. In order to eliminate its hidden dangers to human health, the Xiangshan Conference will be held for strategic discussion. The molecular transformation of mercury is still difficult, and its global spread It is very complicated; now, PM2.5, which is extremely hot, the composition and toxicity of fine particles are the key research directions; the analysis of POPs has always been a problem, such as the small molecule of toxaphen, which has 32768 congeners and is modern. Difficulties in organic analysis; analysis of dioxins in waste incineration ash still requires increased analytical instrument separation capabilities. Jiang Guibin finally pointed out that the development of analytical technologies has made us all work together.
Prof. Kazuo Tokio made a report titled "Analysis Methods of Chemical Substances in the Environment of Japan", which included analysis of environmental-related trace chemical substances and qualitative qualitative analysis techniques developed in cooperation with Shimadzu Corporation. In 1974, Japan began to implement environmental quality surveys on compounds. Up to now, more than 1,300 substances have been investigated. The survey project includes the development of higher-precision, higher-sensitivity analysis methods. Each year, method development will publish a white paper and be applied to the second year of investigation. In 2015, there were more than 1,500 white papers published, and 65 kinds of compound analysis methods for water quality and 8 methods for analysis of compounds in the atmosphere were developed.
The qualitative and quantitative techniques developed in cooperation with Shimadzu Corporation are based on the steps of formulating standards and formulating standard curves, which are included in the determination of general compounds. The more types of samples, the more manpower and financial resources are used to solve these problems. Prof. Kazuo Hesuke and Shimadzu Corporation jointly developed a qualitative and quantitative database AIQS. AIQS includes the analysis of more than 1,000 semi-volatile chemicals using quadrupole GC/MS and two libraries of more than 500 polar chemicals using LC-QTOF-MS. In the application, as far as possible, the performance of the instrument used to analyze the sample is the same as that used when constructing the database. With AIQS, you do not need to purchase the standard product, do not need to make the standard curve, and reduce the analysis time and waste because the database contains more than 1,000 kinds of chemicals. Material data, so you can analyze multiple substances at the same time. Professor Shimonoseki Kazuo also introduced the application of AIQS in the Japanese environmental field.
Guan Yafeng's researcher made a report titled "Pretreatment Technology for VOC Samples in Water." In the report, Guan Yafeng's researcher first introduced the advantages and disadvantages of the VOC pretreatment technologies in water—liquid extraction, solid-phase microextraction, purge and trapping, and non-porous membrane extraction technology. The Guan Yafeng team of researchers developed a porous membrane extraction technique based on the pore-flow diffusion and dissolution diffusion of the VOC component by the membrane. The research team evaluated the influence factors of the technology, such as the length of the hollow fiber, the purge flow rate, the sample temperature, etc., and analyzed the analytical performance of the device and the actual sample test results.
According to Guan Yafeng, a researcher, the technology has been running at Shijiazhuang Waterworks for 2 years and a half without replacing any components. This technology was industrialized by Qingdao Jiaming Company and completed the engineering prototype on October 15, 2015.
