Geophysical company node seismic instrument developed and put into production

[ China Instrument Network Instrument Development ] Recently, the geophysical company has successfully launched the first batch of 2000 node instruments for manufacturing, marking a major milestone in the development of independently designed and produced seismic equipment. This achievement signifies that China has now entered the mass production phase of its own high-end node seismographs, an important step forward in the country's geophysical industry.

Seismic instruments play a crucial role in geophysical exploration, especially as three-dimensional seismic surveys become more widespread. With higher accuracy demands, digital seismographs must now offer improved performance and greater channel capacity. Traditional wired systems have struggled to keep up, creating a bottleneck in further advancements. In response, the development of autonomous node seismographs has gained momentum, offering a more efficient and flexible solution.
The journey began in 2015 when the Geophysical Corporation initiated research on a cable-free autonomous acquisition system. After three years of intensive R&D, the project achieved five key technological innovations and filed six national invention patents. On September 27, 2018, the project was officially accepted after passing rigorous evaluations.
Compared to foreign alternatives, the node seismograph developed by the geophysical company offers more comprehensive features and better suits local quality monitoring needs. Its main technologies and performance metrics have reached international standards, filling a critical gap in Sinopec Group’s high-end seismic acquisition equipment.
These newly developed node instruments have already been deployed in various projects, including oil and gas exploration in the eastern plains and western mountainous regions, as well as shallow engineering surveys in Chengdu and deep geological exploration in Inner Mongolia. They have proven effective in reducing costs, improving efficiency, and lowering safety risks, with excellent real-world results.
The launch of the first 2000-node instruments marks a significant step for the geophysical company. It demonstrates the successful development and production of core seismic equipment with independent intellectual property rights. This achievement not only supports cost reduction and operational efficiency but also paves the way for future upgrades and technological innovation. More importantly, it strengthens Sinopec’s position in the global geophysical market and contributes to the expansion of its industrial chain into equipment R&D and manufacturing.
