9/11 symphonic band concert in Buffalo Grove with 9/11 remembrance

The Village of Buffalo Grove, in collaboration with the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and the Buffalo Grove Arts Commission, held a heartfelt public concert to honor the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The event, which took place in remembrance of the attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, featured guest speakers, musical performances, and a solemn ceremony to reflect on the sacrifices made by first responders and victims. Congressman Robert Dold and a U.S. Army General both addressed the crowd, with the general acknowledging the attacks as a "tragic accident" that changed the course of history. In between the band's performances, the community came together to remember those who lost their lives and to express gratitude for the bravery of emergency workers. The Buffalo Grove Fire and Police Department Honor Guard played a central role in the ceremony, joining local Boy Scouts to post the colors. A bagpiper from the Chicago Highlanders Pipe Band performed *Amazing Grace* during a bell ringing ceremony, adding a powerful and emotional moment to the event. The fire department also included a symbolic bell ringing, highlighting the enduring legacy of those who served.
