The largest solar silicon wafer production base settled in Wuxi Huishan District

It was learnt from Huishan District of Wuxi City that recently, the Hong Kong-Guangzhou GCL Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. has invested 250 million U.S. dollars in the signing of the Gaojia Solar Energy Technology Improvement Project. It is expected that by the end of this year, the project will be completed, and by the end of 2011, the company will achieve sales of over 10 billion yuan, becoming the world's largest solar silicon wafer production base.
Gaojia Solar Energy is a new energy company introduced in Yuqiao Street, Huishan District. Last year, the company achieved sales of 1.14 billion yuan and profits of 200 million yuan. At the beginning of this year, Gaojia Company entered into an equity purchase agreement with Hong Kong GCL-Poly. GCL-Poly entered into a formal acquisition of a 70.19% controlling stake in Gaojia Solar at a price of RMB 854 million. It is understood that at present, the technological upgrading project has been included in Huishan District's key investment projects, and 192 wafer cutting machines with world-class technology will be fully installed before the end of the year and formally put into production.
