Here are some photos of a brush fire that occurred in the unincorporated area of Grayslake on May 1, 2013. The fire was reported near Chardon Road and Imperial Court. It was initially called as a second alarm around 2:35 PM and then escalated to a third alarm at box #34-70 around 3:05 PM. The box was finally knocked down around 4:05 PM. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the best shots because the LC Sheriff had blocked off Chardon Road. I also included a photo of Grayslake Fire Station #3, though it's not the clearest image. These photos were taken by me, Sam Borica.
The fire was quite intense, with large flames visible from a distance. It's clear that the area was under significant stress during the response. Local firefighters worked hard to contain the blaze, and it's good to see that they managed to bring it under control. I hope this helps provide a visual record of what happened that day.
