According to reports, Toyota Motor Corporation will recall 52,000 Avalon cars in the United States due to fire hazards, involving annual models from 2011 to 2012.
Toyota said that the audio cable in the trunk may be displaced due to the collision of the luggage. If the wire is in contact with the metal frame of the sound, it may cause a short circuit, which may cause the speaker to heat up and there is a risk of fire.
The Toyota dealer will provide free repairs to the owner of the vehicle involved in the recall. Before the remedial measures are confirmed, the dealer will remove the rear sound for the owner to reduce the risk.
Not long before this month, Toyota recalled 5,000 Prius V in the United States because of the calibration deviation of the car occupant division system (OCS), which may cause the airbag to fail to open normally in the event of a collision. The company said it has not received an incident report related to the two recalls.
