"The use of green tires made of high-performance rubber can reduce vehicle oil consumption by 5% to 7%, which can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions," said Ke Maoting, chief executive officer of LANXESS Greater China.

It is reported that about 20% to 30% of automobile fuel consumption and 24% of carbon dioxide emissions are caused by tires, and the use of green tires will greatly contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction of automobiles.

Last year, China's auto production and sales both broke through 18 million vehicles, ranking first in the world. China is also the world’s largest tire producer, with production accounting for about one-third of global production. A survey report from the Munich University of Technology stated that green tires will rapidly develop in China, and by 2020, market share may increase to 50%.
