Know the passenger car

Passenger cars are mainly used in their design and technical characteristics to carry passengers and their carry-on baggage and/or temporary goods, including up to 9 seats including the driver's seat. It can also tow a trailer. Passenger cars are divided into the following 11 categories according to the body, roof, seats, doors, and the structure or number of windows.


Ordinary passenger car



The body is closed, with or without a side window. Roof (top cover) is fixed, hard top. Some of the top cover can be opened. 4 or more seats, at least two rows. Rear seats can be folded or moved to create a loading space. The doors are 2 or 4 side doors, which can be opened afterwards.


Live top passenger car



The body is openable with a fixed side frame. The roof (top cover) is a hardtop or softtop with at least two positions: closed, open, or removed. Can be opened? The body can be closed by using one or several hardtop components and/or closing the soft top. 4 or more seats, at least two rows. Doors 2 or 4 side doors. 4 or more side windows in the car window.


Advanced passenger car



The body is closed and there may be partitions between the front and rear seats. Roof (top cover) fixed, hard top. Some of the top cover can be opened. 4 or more seats, at least two rows. Front seats can be fitted with folding seats. There are 4 or 6 side doors in the door, and there is also a rear door. 6 or more side windows in the car window.


Small passenger car



The body is closed and usually has a small rear space. Roof (top cover) fixed, hard top; some of the top cover can be opened. Seats 2 or more, at least one row. There are two side doors in the car door and one rear door can also be opened. Two or more side windows in the car window.


convertible car



The body is openable. The roof (top cover) can be a soft top or a hard top, with at least two positions; the first position covers the body; the second position can be retracted or removable. Seats 2 or more, at least one row. Doors with 2 or more side windows.


Cabin passenger car



The body is closed and the side windows are optional. Roof (top cover) fixed, hard top. Some of the top cover can be opened. 4 or more seats, at least two rows. Rear seats can be folded or moved to create a loading space. Doors 2 or 4 side doors, one rear door.


Wagon



The body is enclosed, and the exterior shape of the car is designed to provide a larger interior space. Roof (top cover) fixed, hard top; some of the top cover can be opened. 4 or more seats, at least two rows. One or more rows of seats can be removed or seated with forward-backed seat backs to provide a loading platform. Door 2 or 4 side doors, with a rear opening door. 4 or more side windows in the car window.


Multipurpose passenger car



For vehicles other than the above-mentioned seven kinds of vehicles, only one passenger compartment carries passengers and their luggage or articles. However, if such a vehicle has both of the following conditions, it does not belong to the passenger vehicle but belongs to the truck.

1) The number of seats other than the driver does not exceed 6; as long as the vehicle has available seat mounting points, the seat should be counted.

2) P=(M+N×68), where: P-maximum design total mass; M-vehicle mass and 1-bit driver mass; N-number of seats other than driver.


Short passenger car



A passenger vehicle in which more than half of the length of the engine is located after the frontmost point of the vehicle's front windshield, and the center of the steering wheel is located in the front quarter of the total length of the vehicle.


Off-road passenger car



In its design, all wheels are driven at the same time (including a vehicle where the drive shaft can be disengaged), or its geometric characteristics (ground angle, departure angle, longitudinal passing angle, minimum ground clearance), technical characteristics (number of drive shafts, difference) The speed locking mechanism or other type of mechanism and its performance (grading) allow a type of passenger vehicle to travel off road.


Special passenger car



A passenger vehicle that carries occupants or items and completes specific functions, and it has special vehicles and/or equipment required for full specific functions. For example: residential vehicles, bulletproof vehicles, ambulances, funeral vehicles, etc.
