Kawasaki Heavy Industries has announced that it has developed a new LNG storage tank for ships powered by LNG, which has a fuel tank storage capacity five times larger than existing fuel tanks.
     It is reported that the modified tank fuel tank has a storage capacity of 2000-10000 cubic meters and is equipped with a distributor to increase the resistance to turbulence.
     Unlike this new type of tank fuel tank, the fuel tanks of existing LNG powerboats are usually cylindrical and can store up to 2,000 cubic meters of cooling fuel.
     Kawasaki Heavy Industries hopes to spend a year commercializing this newly developed fuel storage tank, supplying it to long-distance shipping container ships (ship-type shipyards) or car carriers (ship-type shipyards), hoping that international regulations will limit emissions. It can promote the demand of shipping carriers for LNG power boats.
