BYD recently released its 2014 performance report. The company achieved operating revenue of 58.286 billion yuan last year, a year-on-year increase of 10.26. The net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 438 million yuan, down 20.82. BYD Lighting Sales Director revealed that the company's LED business achieved a total revenue of 514 million yuan in 2014, compared with the total revenue of 367 million yuan in 2013, an increase of 40.05. In terms of net profit, Xiao Zhiyong did not mention it. BYD established the Optoelectronics Project Department in 2003 to conduct research and development and production of optical related products, including mobile phone cameras, LED package products, and lens lamps. The performance has been remarkable since then. At the end of 2010, BYD officially established a lighting brand and invested a total of 1.5 billion in the LED industry to complete the entire industrial chain layout and realize the vertical integration of epitaxial chips, packaging and application products. In 2013, LED lighting entered a rapid growth period. BYD established Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd. to develop a one-stop EMC business and support large-scale energy-saving renovation projects. In 2014, BYD launched LED headlamp application solutions and launched intelligent lighting. Regarding whether BYD will have new actions in the LED business in 2015, Xiao Zhiyong said that the revenue target of the LED business in 2015 will remain above 500 million yuan, and the specific new layout is still under planning, which is temporarily inconvenient to disclose.
